Through the Eyes of the Children

In Commemoration of the Children of the Tsunami

imageThis website is dedicated to the millions of children whose lives were affected by the devastating Asian earthquake and tsunami of December 26, 2004.

It brings to donors, staff and friends of Save the Children across the world a summary of the achievements of Save the Children’s relief and reconstruction efforts in the region, details of our five-year plan and a financial accounting of money raised and spent in support of these programmes to the end of April 2005.

The tsunami drew the world’s attention to the vulnerability of children in crises with many thousands lost and millions more left without the familiar structures they need to survive and thrive. But because of the unprecedented outpouring of support for these children, and the trust you gave us, we have the means to help ensure these children succeed today and tomorrow.

We are bringing the extraordinary story of reconstruction to you in this report and on this dedicated website “Through the Eyes of the Children.”

Save the Children's Tsunami  Relief and Reconstruction 6-Month Progress Report and this website have been created, designed and produced, in conjunction with Save the Children, by Edelman as part of the company's global pro bono support of Save the Children's tsunami relief and reconstruction programmes.
